Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress that works in both film, television and theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe the fiery lawyer from The Showtime series Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe is her new name after she married. As a child, she was a natural actor. In a Maryland competition for high school students she took home the award for Best Actress. After she completed high school, she was offered an all-inclusive tuition grant to the University of Toronto where she pursued theatre studies with a double degrees in Sociology and Psychology. Contractor was cast in her first show following her first year at university. The production she appeared in earned praise from Canadian theater critics. The conservatory in Stratford accepts eight men, four women and a handful of other people for a 20 weeks of crash courses. The actor's involvement in the upcoming season of plays was confirmed, and she got the part of Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
